October cash plan

How the month goes down: the cash we expect to collect, where the bank account sits each day, the bills, and the debt we attack first.

01The headline numbers

Where we stand this morning

The bank has $20,564.02 before today's rent and payroll go out. Once they do, that is the lowest point of the month. From there the autopays land and the account climbs back.

Cash today
$20,564
Available right now, before rent ($3,702) and payroll (about $5,000) leave.
Low point
$11,862
About. Today or tomorrow, after rent and payroll, before the Stripe payouts land.
End of October
$13,732
About, counting only money we are sure of. About $21,198 if the open invoices get paid. Both after paying off the Amex line and the Platinum card.
Debt to attack
$58,186
Chase $34,525 + US Bank card $21,136 + Amex line $2,525. Platinum and Gold are bills we pay in full, not debt.

September for context: about $36.2k came in, about $20k went out on real spend, so about +$16.3k before owner draws ($4k). August was about -$1.5k.

02Cash we expect to collect

About $23.2k we are sure of, plus about $7.7k to chase

Retainers are on autopay and land in the bank the next business day, minus about 3% in card fees. ROC pays by bank transfer with no fee.

03The bank account, day by day

It dips twice and stays above the floor

The solid line is money we are sure of. The dashed line adds the invoices we are chasing. The red line is the $10,000 floor: one payroll plus one rent, so two weeks of zero collections never puts us in trouble.

05Debt, ranked by what it costs

Attack the most expensive dollar first

Bar length is the yearly rate. The balance is next to the name. The order is set by the rate, not the size.

1. Amex Business Line of Credit, $2,525 owed of a $45,000 lineabout 30 to 32%
Gone in October. The $303 minimum autopays 10/12, the rest (about $2,222) once ROC's $5,500 lands. Smallest balance, highest rate, and it closes a door we should not walk through again.
2. US Bank credit card, $21,136about 20%
About $348 a month in interest right now. Next target from November: $2,000 to $3,000 extra a month on top of the minimum.
3. Chase Ink Unlimited, $34,525 on a $30,500 limit0% until Dec 11, then 16.74%
Free until December 11, 2026, so only the $345 minimum until then. It is $4,025 over the limit. Before December 11: a 0% balance transfer card if one approves us, otherwise it stays, 16.74% is still our cheapest debt.
Not debt: Amex Platinum $3,905 and Amex Gold $862paid in full
Charge cards. Platinum is cancelled and gets paid in full 10/15. Gold is the everyday card and gets paid in full every statement ($862 on 10/6, about $7,930 around 11/6).

Why we do not draw the Amex line to pay off a card

The fee1.5% a month
  • Charged on the original amount every month, even as the balance goes down.
  • 18 months on $42,500 = $11,475 in fees, $2,998.62 a month, with a personal guarantee.
What that really isabout 30 to 32% a year
  • Because you keep paying the full fee on money you have already paid back.
  • 6, 12 or 18 months all land in the same 30 to 32% range.
What it would replace20% or 16.74%
  • US Bank costs about 20%. Chase costs 0% now and 16.74% from December.
  • Swapping either for a 30% draw makes the debt more expensive, not less. A 0% balance transfer with a one time 3 to 5% fee is the cheap move.
06The plan

October, November, December

Steady first, then every spare dollar goes to the most expensive debt. No new borrowing.

OctoberSteady and clean up
  • Keep the $10,000 floor every day.
  • Gold $862 on 10/6. Platinum $3,905 on 10/15.
  • Pay the Amex line to zero once ROC's $5,500 lands (about 10/20 to 10/22).
  • Collect the $7.7k owed: CJ, NAMB, VSC, CCMC, Mahsheed, Dawn, Dino, G Lending, Dominique, Scarlett, podcasts.
  • No new Amex draws. Chase and US Bank at the minimum.
  • Ends at about $13,732 sure, about $21,198 if collected.
NovemberStart on US Bank
  • Cover the Gold statement, about $7,930, around 11/6. Keep card spend lean so the next one is smaller.
  • Then $2,000 to $3,000 extra a month to the US Bank card, on top of the minimum.
  • Retainers billed on the 1st, due in 7 days, autopay. Same every month.
  • Decide by 12/1: balance transfer card for Chase, yes or no.
DecemberDeal with Chase before 12/11
  • Chase's 0% ends December 11. After that it costs 16.74%, about $480 a month at today's balance.
  • Try a 0% balance transfer card. A one time 3 to 5% fee ($1,000 to $1,700) is less than a year of 16.74%.
  • If nobody approves us, Chase stays where it is. It is still the cheapest debt we have, so US Bank keeps getting the extra money first.
07Debt free timeline

At $4,000 to $5,000 a month toward debt

That is what September's numbers support after payroll, rent, software and a light owner draw. Faster if the open invoices keep landing on time.

Oct 2026Spring 2027End of 2027
October 2026
Amex line of credit: gone
$2,525 paid in full once ROC lands. Then the line stays at zero.
November 2026 to about March or April 2027
US Bank card: gone by spring
$21,136 at $4,000 to $5,000 a month is about five months. Saves about $348 a month in interest as it shrinks.
Spring 2027 through the end of 2027
Chase: paid down through 2027
$34,525 at $4,000 to $5,000 a month is about eight more months. A balance transfer in December keeps it cheap while we get there.
08Rules we follow

The playbook, same every month

  1. Never go under $10,000. One payroll plus one rent. Anything extra to debt is paid only on a day the bank stays above the floor plus the next payroll.
  2. Bill retainers on the 1st, due in 7 days, on autopay. Money lands on the 2nd and the 16th like clockwork. Manual invoices (PW, CAM, ROC, NAMB) go out the same day the work is due.
  3. Charge cards get paid in full, every statement. Gold and Platinum never carry a balance. What goes on the Gold this month is cash we need next month.
  4. No new Amex line draws. 1.5% a month on the original amount is 30% money. Once it is at zero it stays at zero.
  5. Most expensive debt first. Amex line, then US Bank at 20%, then Chase. Every extra dollar follows that order.
  6. Chase and US Bank at the minimum, on autopay. Never a late fee, never a missed payment, no surprises.
  7. Collections get checked every Friday. Anything past due gets a reminder the same day. No content ships to a client who has not paid.
  8. Owner draws come out of the debt money. Every $1,000 drawn is $1,000 that stays on a 20% card. Keep them light until US Bank is gone.
  9. After US Bank is gone: a tax and reserve bucket. 25% of each month's profit moves to a separate account so taxes and slow months never touch the floor.
09Decisions still open

Your call, one at a time

Mahsheed Parsons, board row $650 or $325?
Keep the row at $650 and mark it half paid: $325 paid 9/24, $325 open. The open invoice waits on the three reels. Suggest: keep $650, split it.
J Legacy, the $1,500 a month rows from October on
Nothing has ever been collected, $3,000 owed, content on hold. Suggest: take the recurring rows off the board, keep the $3,000 owed row, put him back the day he pays.
Ramos, the August $1,000 row
August was headshots only ($500, paid). The $1,000 paid 9/2 was for September. Suggest: remove the August row, nothing is owed.
CCMC $2,250 check, marked paid 9/28
It is not in QuickBooks deposits yet (the bank feed is only current through 9/24). Suggest: confirm it was deposited. If it was, October is $2,250 better than this page shows.
The Sublimation House, $10,000 invoice from April
Invoice email bounced, nothing paid since 5/8. Suggest: one last phone and mail attempt this month, then write it off so the books stop counting it.
Chase is $4,025 over its $30,500 limit
The card is not being used, so no over limit fees yet. The December 11 question decides this. Suggest: decide on the balance transfer by 12/1, I will remind you.
QuickBooks clean up
Owner draws are booked as Legal fees, the Amex plan payment as Supplies, and the Amex feed has been stale since 9/24. Suggest: reconnect the Amex feed and recode those lines so the monthly numbers read true.

How the numbers were built. Start = $20,564.02 available in US Bank 0318 on 10/1 before rent and payroll. Stripe card payments lose about 2.9% + 30 cents and land the next business day; ROC's bank transfer has no fee. Payroll uses the last two ADP runs ($5,368 and $5,498), rounded to about $5,000 for 10/2 (Luis's figure) and $5,300 for 10/16 and 10/30, debited the day before pay day. Software and subscriptions use the 9/29 overhead list, about $1,562 a month, spread in four weekly chunks; part of that may ride on the Gold card instead, which would make October a little better and the November Gold bill a little bigger. The US Bank minimum is a guess at about $600 because that card is paid from Josh's login. Chase 0% end date and 16.74% rate come from the 9/11 statement. "About" means an estimate. Nothing on this page moves money by itself.
